| | Windows Vista Installation I am trying to upgrade from Windows ME to Windows Vista. I can't download the upgrade advisor nor can I get the Windows Vista (Home Basic Edition) to start up. What do I need to do? |

| | Re: Windows Vista Installation Hi A) You can't upgrade from WinME to Vista, it's not a supported path. You'd have to do a clean installation. B) The upgrade advisor will not run under WinME, so downloading it will not help. C) A WinME era machine is unlikely to have sufficient hardware specifications to run Vista. Please provide these along with the make and model, and the motherboard or system manufacturer. -- Best of Luck, Rick Rogers, aka "Nutcase" - Microsoft MVP http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/ Windows help - www.rickrogers.org My thoughts http://rick-mvp.blogspot.com "cantgetright30" <cantgetright30@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:5C8CE614-0B13-497F-B206-962F94E400B4@microsoft.com... >I am trying to upgrade from Windows ME to Windows Vista. | | Re: Windows Vista Installation WindowsME is also not a qualifying OS, so you will have to purchase a FULL version of whatever edition of Vista you want.
