Windows Vista Installation

I am trying to upgrade from Windows ME to Windows Vista. I can't download the
upgrade advisor nor can I get the Windows Vista (Home Basic Edition) to start
up. What do I need to do?

Re: Windows Vista Installation

Hi

A) You can't upgrade from WinME to Vista, it's not a supported path. You'd
have to do a clean installation.

B) The upgrade advisor will not run under WinME, so downloading it will not
help.

C) A WinME era machine is unlikely to have sufficient hardware
specifications to run Vista. Please provide these along with the make and
model, and the motherboard or system manufacturer.

Re: Windows Vista Installation

WindowsME is also not a qualifying OS, so you will have to purchase a FULL
version of whatever edition of Vista you want.
