Adding file to Start Menu

Hi
I have to frequently use a batch files to start and stop tomcat on my Vista
Laptop. I have created a couple of shortcuts onto my desktop, and they work
from there. If I drag and drop to the Start Menu, i cannot start the
program. I am clearly doing something wrong - can someone tell me what
please?

Thanks
A

Re: Adding file to Start Menu

Have you tried copying them to the start menu using the right mouse button
instead of moving them to the start menu? If they then work you can delete
them from the desktop.

Well, Alex H, it is by far not the only problem that pops as you start using the start menu.
Lots of things are pretty inconvenient, so personally, I always prefer a customized approach and here's what I've installed just a week ago: http://www.vistastartmenu.com/index.html
This program can be quite helpful at times.
Then, there's another one that is handy at sorting the programs by categories, so you might wanna play with it. http://www.tidystartmenu.com/index.shtml
Anyways, I hope that will work out for you...
