Vista Update broke my notebook

Hello,
Notebook: AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-50 1.60 GHz,1024 Ram,32bit Vista Home Premium
Everytime I downloaded updates next restart of notebook slowdown to 15
minutes!. When Vista is loaded an opening of file takes 2 minutes. I
re-installed windows severely but it never fixed.

Thanks for your help

Re: Vista Update broke my notebook

Sounds like an Acer Laptop............all that Acer "empowering technology"
takes forever to load.

Dude...peter's crystal ball is out for repair. How could he have
*possibly* known that you have a Fujitsu when you never said it in your
OP? Sigh...

Next time, post more details in *one* post instead of multi-posting
(I've seen this in several other NGs). At the very least, cross-post.

Re: Vista Update broke my notebook

I dont know if this will help but it works for me
Check to see what Vista has updated.......if there are any "hardware"
updates uninstall them. Then reboot and see if its quicker.
I have my Update set to check but let me decide...........I found that some
of the hardware updates were better not installed. So when Vista shows those
updates I decline and then visit the manufacturers website to obtain the
correct Vista drivers.

If that does not work then you will need to work your way down thru the list
of Vista updates and uninstall one by one till you find the
culprit.......and dont let it install again.

Re: Vista Update broke my notebook

I have tried to uninstall one by one - lot of restarts
But next time I will avoid these hardware updates. Think it gonna work.
Thanks Peter
