| Guest | Vista Upgrade I currently have XP PRO installed on a system using RAID 1 Because I made some mistake replacing hard drives in the past my primary boot drive is F: and the system has no C: I would like to install Vista Ultimate, as a clean install, by installing a new SATA drive, as C: Then installing Vista on the C: Drive. Then using the settings and transfer wizard to move info from the F: drive. At the same time I want to upgrade the CPU and install a new TV tuner card. I don't care about a dual boot but I would leave the F: Drive intact until I'm sure everything is OK. Then just use it as an ancillary drive. Is this scheme something that will work? -- John Anderson |

| Guest | Re: Vista Upgrade Your best bet is to run your Windows Easy Transfer first. Install your new drive and change your BIOS to make it the first in HD boot priority (usually requires two settings) and the DVD drive in first position in boot priority if you can't select during boot time. Install Vista, restore your settings and enjoy.
