| Guest | Can not upgrade from SP1 to SP2 I have tried dozens of times to upgrade my Windows XP Pro from SP1 to SP2. When it works, I find that MyComputer takes 4 or 5 minutes to display the folders and files each time. I see it also has this problem when I open Photoshop. The folder lists takes forever to display. I have tried the download of the SP@ upgrade and also purchased the SP2 upgrade CD from Windows. No luck. Can anyone tell me what I can do do resolve this problem? I can not run the Vista Advisor, or upgrade to Vista or install the more recent webcams without SP2. I think it has something to do with my Registry but don't know what. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks... Gary |

| Guest | Re: Can not upgrade from SP1 to SP2 Hi, Run services.msc and disable automatic loading of WIA (Windows Image Acquisition), this is a common cause of this XP problem. Further questions should be posted to an XP support group for proper responses, as problems and possible resolutions can often be very different than those in Vista. -- Best of Luck, Rick Rogers, aka "Nutcase" - Microsoft MVP http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/ Windows help - www.rickrogers.org My thoughts http://rick-mvp.blogspot.com "goddi" <goddi@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:756C64CA-7C7C-46D1-86F1-925DB7CACB45@microsoft.com... >I have tried dozens of times to upgrade my Windows XP Pro from SP1 to SP2. > When it works, I find that MyComputer takes 4 or 5 minutes to display the > folders and files each time.
