Can't Install Vista 64bit

I tried to boot from the DVD to install Windows Vista 64bit. I get past the
press any key to boot from CD or DVD then the loading Vista files screen and
it gets to some screen where the colors are solid white gray and blue. I see
my mouse pointer but other then that just the colors. No windows nothing.

if you have two video outputs try the other one.

you might consider listing what hardware you have to get a better answer

Re: Can't Install Vista 64bit

I have an Asus AR8MVP motherboard with an AMD Athlon 3500+ 2 gig of ram and
an ATI Radeon 1950xt. I installed the 32 bit version but I can't change the
resolution or the colors. I installed the drivers and the catalyst control
center for vista about 5 times over now and it still says there is no ATI
driver installed.

Re: Can't Install Vista 64bit

i assume you used the catalyst drivers disk that came with the graphics card.

it seems to not be installing the correct version. suggest go to ati.amd.com and download the latest catalyst for your OS. note different versions for 64 and 32 bit vista

your hardware is vista64 certified and should work fine. have you tried installing windows xp or booting with ubuntu cd? (you don't have to install ubuntu)
