| | Re: Install Startup Repair as a boot option? Hi Phillip, Here are the instructions on how to access Startup Repair in Windows Vista. On the following page choose Startup Repair rather than System Restore. Running System Restore from System Recovery Options: http://bertk.mvps.org/html/recovery.html Regards, Bert Kinney MS-MVP Shell/User http://bertk.mvps.org Member: http://dts-l.org philip wrote: > Is it possible to install startup repair? |

| | Re: Install Startup Repair as a boot option? Yes and No - Startup Repair is performed by Windows PE - an abbreviated version of Vista - which also is the basis for Vista boot rather than DOS. As mentioned, if the computer came with a recovery partition (Vista pre-installed) Windows PE is included to "run" the recovery. BTW - BartsPE (with disclaimers) is based on Windows PE. Windows PE originally was only available to OEMs and Microsoft Enterprise customers, however guidelines for creating a Windows PE repair utility is included in the WAIK (Windows Automated Installation Kit - free download) as is Windows PE. news:B0ABD799-55DF-4BB5-82FC-EA884458FE7A@microsoft.com... > Is it possible to install startup repair? |
