Vista Tutorial - what you hear

how do you set your sound to what you hear in vista, in xp it wasnt a real
problem but now i cant find the stereomix and stuff for it, im running a
realtek sound card please help

I don't remember the order anymore, so you may have to do Part 2 first if it
doesn't work the first time.

Part 1:

Right Click on the sound icon in the taskbar (far right of taskbar) and
click on recording devices. In the list should be Stereo Mix, highlight and
click on properties.

At the bottom of the general tab is a pull-down menu, pick 'Use this device
(enable).

Part 2:

Control Panel > RealTek HD Audio Manager

In the upper, right corner click on 'Device advanced setting'

In the pop-up window pick 'Separate all input jacks as independent input
devices'

The window will reset and then Stereo Mix should be there.

You need to install the Vista drivers for your RealTek sound. They may or
may not have a driver yet that provides all the functionalities of the XP
drivers yet.
