Max number of cores each Vista version supports?

Hi all,

I have heard that different versions of Vista supports
different numbers of cores in the cpus. Can anyone
shead some light on the number of cores each of the
following supports?

Vista Home Basic 32bit
Vista Home Premium 32bit
Vista Ultimate 32bit
Vista Home Basic 64bit
Vista Home Premium 64bit
Vista Ultimate 64bit

Any other info on multithreading and virtualization?

thanks,
charles....

Re: Max number of cores each Vista version supports?

Limitation is per CPU socket, not cores.

Any number of cores for any of the Vistas:

Limited number of processors containing those multiple cores based on the
version of Vista:

Starter, Basic and Home Premium: 1 processor socket
Business, Enterprise and Ultimate: 2 processor sockets
