Vista - upgrade vista without buying new product key

upgrade vista without buying new product key

i got a new computer with windows vista home basic then inside the box there
was a disk that said you can upgrade it.
so i ran the disk and upgraded it and now it says invalid for activation
"access computer with reduced functionality"
or put in a new product key

help!!

You have two choices:

1. Purchase a Product Key for the Vista version you upgraded to:

or

2. Read the User's Guide that came with your new computer and follow
the instructions to perform a "Full System Recovery".
