Lost my CD and DVD roms

I have a weird issue I just lost both my CD and DVD rom drives. I am
getting a code 39. I have unstalled and and they let windows do a
re-install and it still could not load the drivers. My DVD rom works
because I can boot to to the Vista DVD on bootup.

Any ideas on how to fix this issue. It is just weird that both of them went
out at the same time.

Try this: http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;EN-US;320553

I had the same problem and this solved it.

Re: Lost my CD and DVD roms

Thanks,

That did not do it for me but it had a link that did. I did this and it
worked for me now. Thanks for your help.
