last installed windows. I had xp, i installed vista, then the dual boot
window didnot show up and automatically got booted in vista. the i formatted
the secondary master and installed fresh copy of xp and now it boots directly
into XP.

I needed to use start up fix problems(recovery options) in windows vista

Try punching F8 when your computer starts booting up and see if it will stop
on a boot menu.

It will, but they will be boot options like safe mode.

Re: Dual boot problems

Do you have your BIOS set up to consider each hard drive separately when
booting?

Re: Dual boot problems

If you have each windows on a different (phisical) hard disk you can choose
the one to boot from your BIOS. Don't you have Vista on the primary master
and xp on the sec master? well, by chooosing the booting drive it should
boots from the one you choose.

I have a problem like yours, i used start up fix problems from the vista cd,
and now it boots automatically windows vista (located in my c: drive) and i
can not boot my xp version (on the d: drive) Each one is on a different
logical partition but the hard disk is the same, i'm using my laptop pc,
maybe if I reisntall vista it will re-configure the multiboot option, but the
64-bit version i'm using took a lot of time for the installation and i have
already installed programs and stuff on my vista version.
Any suggestions??? From the msconfig, on the boot tab i can only see the c:
drive and i can't add another os to boot manually. Can anyone help me??
