Vista - how do I register Vista

After a vista upgrade from xp microsoft is asking me to enter my code and
register. When I try this microsoft says it cannot regerster me because the
disc I have is for upgrade only and not clean install. I have upgraded xp and
not clean installed any iea?

Hi,

Did you install by booting the disk or by inserting it into a running XP
installation and choosing the upgrade path. The former is considered a clean
install, while the latter is not. If you did the former, then you will need
to reinstall as an upgrade to the existing installation and use your Product
Key at that point.

It is always better to do a clean install from XP to Vista. Backup anything you do not want to loose. This tutorial will show you how to do a clean install with a Upgrade version of Vista.
