| | minimum partition size for vista 64 bit install? Vista requirements list this as hardware requirement: 40 GB hard drive with at least 15 GB of available space I want to create a dual boot partition between XP 32 and Vista 64 on a brand new system. That means three partitions: one for xp installation, one for vista installation, and one for data. What's a reasonable amount to make the installation partitions (that allows for growth). ? I have a 320 gig drive and don't plan to install Vista 64 bit until sp 1. I want to keep all my user data on the data partition on the same drive; on the other hand, I don't want to shortchange myself (especially with a hard drive that size). | | Re: minimum partition size for vista 64 bit install? I would also cut way down the amount of virtual ram each OS uses. For XPSP2, I have my virtual ram at 512mb, and Vista 64 is the same. |

I don't think the XP_32 side has been used in about a year now...XP_64 works so well. At any rate I certainly would not go under 20 gigs for the OS partition |
