Thanks Joseph for your feedback. It was a clean installation. I had removed
any unneeded peripherals and I could not avoid the problem.
The microsoft support team told me to remove the 2 Gb of memory I purchased
a few weeks before. I have been able to install Vista since then and the
memory analysis tool that comes with Vista was able to diagnostic that my
additional 2 Gb of memory was not compatible with the 1 Gb of memory I had on
initially.
I has replaced the 2 Gb of memory with another brand and it has been working
since that time.
Cheers,
Michel
