Vista fustration

I've been trying to upgrade to Vista Home Premium from windows XP media
center 2005 update rollup-2 when I try to upgrade or clean install I get an
error message that states that the computer cannot do anything with the boot
configuration, then cancels the installation. I have an HP a1243w, with an
AMD Athlon(tm) 64 +3200 1.79 GHZ processor running 1.43 gigs of RAM and I
have 32.5 Gigs of Free space on my STA hard drive.

Re: Vista fustration

Hi,

Disable any boot time protection in the system BIOS, and uninstall any
active antivirus software in the existing system (note that I said
uninstall, not just disable). You can install a Vista compatible version
after the upgrade completes.
