Vista - How to Migrate Vista Product Key

I have purchased license of Windows Vista Ultimate and installed it on
my current machine. I plan to buy new machine that usually only comes
with Windows Vista Home Premium/Business.

How do I migrate my product key from my current machine to new
machine?

Do I need to reinstall my new Windows Vista Home Premium/Business in
order to have Ultimate edition? Thank you.

Hi,
You install it on the new machine, and remove it from the old one. You will
then need to phone in the activation. This is assuming a normal, retail
version of Ultimate was purchased. If it was an OEM license, then it is not
transferable to a new machine.
Not sure I understand this question. You would only need to have an existing
install of one of those if the Ultimate license you have is an upgrade
license.

What if I use the product key that is given to Partner (Gold Certified

Hmm, it seems that if i install on the second computer using same
product key, it will be activated and the first computer product key
will be invalidated, which is what I hope. Is there anyone has tried
this?

At this time, I do not believe there is anything in place that will actually
detect the now-invalid installation on the original machine. Eventually,
through WGA, this may be possible. It is on the onus of the user to remove
it from the original system. My information, however, may be outdated as I
do know that this is being worked on.
