upgrade of Windows Millenium edition over the network

Subject prompts several questions.

1. Can Windows Millenium be upgraded to Vista?

2. Can Windows Millenium be upgraded to Vista over a network connection?
If so, details of how would be appreciated?

3. If you cannot upgrade Windows Millenium over the network can you install
a fresh copy of Vista over the network? If so, details of how would be
greatly apprectiated?

Thanks,

RICK

RE: upgrade of Windows Millenium edition over the network

I'm pretty sure ONLY Windows XP can be upgraded. If you have Winows me you
are going to need to do a fresh install (Boot from DVD)

The CPP download program closed on 30 June 06. You may be able to still
download but you will not be given a key to install Vista. You had to have
received your key before 30 June 06.

Re: upgrade of Windows Millenium edition over the network

No "pretty sure" about it.

From the CPP page:

"Installation limitations:

There are two installation scenarios for Windows Vista Beta 2 (and RC1):

1. You can do a clean installation. This process will overwrite any data
that you have on your hard disk or on your installation partition. The
overwritten data will be lost and unrecoverable.
2. You can upgrade an existing installation of Windows XP.

No other installation scenarios are supported. Upgrading to this beta from
any other edition of Windows requires a clean installation, as described in
option 1."
