OE6 instead of Vista Mail?

Can I get OE6 to run under Vista? I like it's newsreader much beeter than
the one with Vista Mail. If I can, where do I download just OE6?

Thanks... Bob

Re: OE6 instead of Vista Mail?

OE does not work with Vista...closest and pretty good is Windows live Mail
which is in beta...you can download it and try it out.

http://get.live.com/betas/maildesktop_betas

I am reasonably happy with it

Not possible but what's wrong with the newsreader? Windows Mail is the next
generation of OE and will eventually be replaced by Windows Live Mail
anyway.

Re: OE6 instead of Vista Mail?

Actually the two are almost identical with one little quirk that really
bothers me. I subscribe to many newsgroups and may be "watching"
conversations in 5 or 6 different groups at any one time. In the pane at
the left where each newsgroup is listed both readers turn the newsgroup red
that has unread "watched" messages in it. This is great because I wouldn't
remember each group on my own. A MAJOR DIFFERENCE is this. In OE6 the
newsgroup name will stay red if there are ANY unread messages in a watched
group. In Windows Mail once you open up that group it will no longer be red
even if you did not read any messages. It's a little thing but it's driving
me nuts!

Re: OE6 instead of Vista Mail?

I didn't see anything about newsgroups in the Live Mail description,
newsgroups are my concern.

Re: OE6 instead of Vista Mail?

Windows Live Mail does everything that Windows Mail does,
plus Hotmail access.
