I assume you have checked the validity of the username and password
by accessing your webmail at
http://mail.charter.net/ .
As a test, you may want to uninstall your antivirus, to see if that makes
a difference. Are you running any other non-Microsoft security software
such as anti-spam, anti-spyware, or firewall?
