| | Windows Mail problems ? I am experiencing two significant problems with my Windows Mail : 1. When I open Windows Mail and read a message ( or delete it or move it to another folder), the local folders list on the left does not refresh to show the command has been executed ? It only updates itself when I close the program and re-open ? Is there a fix for this and is it a common problem ? Both my two new laptops are working this way so it is not a local glitch ? 2. I have tried to import my OE6 .dbx files and everything proceeds ok until during the importation process the process seems to stop ? I have 1422 folders and 1.39Gbs of messages to import and I'm wondering if there is a limit to how much can be imported in one go ? When the process falls over then my Mail window will not show any of my local folders at all suggesting it has made the program unstable and when I try to delete the imported folders thewy seem to re-appear when I re-start the Laptop ? I have set my user profile to full permissions and all the importation process is as per previous advice in terms of crating folders on the new machine tio import from and making sure all the folders are not read only etc. - I am at a loss to see what I can do and maybe my only option is to buy Outloook and install that to see if it works Ok in that program as currently my Windows Mail program is now not working properly ? |

Windows Live Mail, which at least won't cost you anything and automatically imports most of what is already under Windows Mail. |

| | Re: Windows Mail problems ? I've been considering downloading Windows Live Mail Beta this afternoon but I wonder if I will still have the folder importation problems ? Does anyone know if there is a fiile size limit that can be imported in one go ? Also, I have disabled my Anti-Virus e-mail scanning to see if that was a factor but I don't think it mad any difference ? Thanks for any further help anyone can offer ! | | Re: Windows Mail problems ? What antivirus program are you using? If it's from Norton or McAfee, you may have to uninstall it, not just turn off part of it, to eliminate the problems it causes.
