Windows mail, multiple users

Hi,
I have reconfigured my email account. I can only receive only if any new
mails arrive. I cannot download all old emails. Also if my partner downloads
any new emails that arrive (we both use a common id)... They wont come to my
inbox (though we leave a copy on the server). I have tried all options but in
vain... Any help is appreciated.
We use Windows Vista Business; Windows Mail
Thanks
Vijay S

Some internet providers won't save email on the server after you download
the first copy even if you tell them to.

Re: Windows mail, multiple users

If you have two users utilizing the same account on two separate machines, your
results are normal.

It appears that your ISP's server is only downloading messages that have not
already been downloaded. This is a good feature, otherwise you would end up with
multiple copies of the same message in your Inbox.

IMO, you need to create separate accounts and release the server's message
store.

If you continue to have the server store your messages, your ISP probably has a
limit, so you should have some way to purge the older messages on a regular
basis.
