| | Address Book from Outlook 2002 into Windows Mail My old pc is noy available. I converted my Address Book to a .WAB format and took a copy of it which has been restore to the new pc with Vista Home Premium. However, whenever I try and import it or just look at it, I get the 'you are about to import Windows Address Book contents' and then says it has done it but I still see nothing either opening contacts with Mail or using Windows Contacts - in fact, I just go round in circles. Am I just doing this incorrectly or is there something wrong with the copy I took. There seem to be 2 entries in the restored folder - one with my old userid, an address book icon and a file type of WAB. The other has my old userid.wab follwed by a squiggly line, an unspecified icon and a file type of WAB followed by the same squiggly line. Both are 173KB - it was not a huge address book but does this seem too small?. Any assitance/guidance from those more knowledgable will be much appreciated. |

| | Re: Address Book from Outlook 2002 into Windows Mail I have installed the 60 day free Outlook 2007, which has allowed me to get back my old messages but I also have Windows Mail and an MSN Hotmail. I dont really care which one gets the address book as it seems once one does I can export/import it around to whichever one I want to use eventually (well, it wont be Outlook 2007 as I am not going to pay for it - it was just a way of getting back the old messages which will get moved to Mail) "robertmiles@xxxxxx" wrote: Quote: > > "Thrawgoon" <Thrawgoon@xxxxxx> wrote in message > news:F139D62F-E0C3-4AD9-99F6-FB411D90C663@xxxxxx Quote: > > My old pc is noy available. | | Re: Address Book from Outlook 2002 into Windows Mail I can only guess that there was something wrong with the conversion to .WAB. I was able to take my old Outlook Express .WAB file from an XP machine to a Vista machine and it imported fine. You should be able to export contacts in .CSV format from Outlook and Windows Contacts will import from that format also.
