Vista - need to know what is the best thing I should do for my e-mail prob

I have vista and my e-mail account is thru yahoo I tried to set it up in
windows and if I am understanding this it can't be done so should i not
set up a windows account or
-- is there away to set-up a new account and can i route my yahoo mail there
i really would like to keep my yahoo account but i can't get windows to
accept pop3 and smtp

Have you asked Yahoo for instructions for setting up a new account?

You might try downloading Windows Live Mail and see if it works
better with a Yahoo account.

If you have a free, US-based Yahoo account, it has web access only, no POP.
If you have a premium (paid) Yahoo account, use these settings:

Windows Mail can not accommodate web-only accounts.
If you are technically adept, there is an add-on program called
YPOPS! that will convert Yahoo web mail to POP mail:
http://ypopsemail.com

Your other options would be
a) get a free Gmail account, and/or
b) set up an email account from your ISP.
