Window Security

In windows XP when I clicked on send/receive it brought up a window to log
on to my server to get my mail. My username was all ready typed in and all I
had to do was type in my password. In Vista mail when I click on
send/receive a window opens to log on to my mail server. The problem is I
can't get it to hold my username, so all I have to do is type in my
password. Where can I go to change this setting? Thanks

Hi Rick,

This is not possible in Windows Mail. You can have it set to logon automatically or you will have to type in both the username and password. The settings for this are here in Windows Mail:
1. Click Tools - Accounts
2. Select your email account and click Properties
3. Click Servers tab
4. Check "Remember password" for automatic logon.
5. Click OK

Sorry,
Shawn

Re: Window Security

You might click on Tools, then Message Rules, then News, then go down
the list of rules to see if you've killfiled yourself or someone who posts
with
the same return address. If so, click on the rule and then Remove. If this
has happened, you still won't see that post, but you should see your future
posts.

Re: Window Security

Thanks

I went into Tools, Message rules, then the tab for news rules. There is
nothing in those windows. Although I didn't understand the killfiled
yourself. I can't see the message for this question either.

Your welcome Rick,

I do not know the answer for you since I do not use the newsgroup feature in Windows Mail. I use a forum that has this newsgroup in it instead. I find it easier, just in my opinion.

Re: Window Security

You killfiled yourself if you told it to delete all messages coming in
with your return address. Then you won't see them.

One more possibility: Click on Tools, then Junk E-mail Options,
then Blocked Senders. If you see your email address on the
list, or just the part after @, click on it and then Remove.
Click on OK.

Re: Window Security

Then click Tools | Junk Mail Options and look at the Blocked Senders.

Works great now. I seen the message that I sent saying I removed my name
