Bill, Click "Associate a file type or protocol with a program" in the Default Programs applet, and associate "mailto:" protocol with Eudora. | | Re: Cannot re-establish Eudora as my default E-mail program. Gary, Bill haven't mentioned anything about "Associate a file type or protocol with a program" section in the Default Programs applet. According to his post, "I've been into the "Set Program Access and Computer Defaults", but Eudora simply isn't there in either the "Custom" or "Non-Windows" programs." The same was the case here, but I could associate mailto: protocol with Eudora, via "Associate a file type or protocol with a program", not the "Set Program Access and Computer Defaults". -- Regards, Ramesh Srinivasan, Microsoft MVP [Windows Shell/User] Windows® Troubleshooting http://www.winhelponline.com "Gary VanderMolen" <gary@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:e2yagqvJIHA.5764@xxxxxx Ramesh, the problem (as I understand it) is that Eudora is not listed as an available choice. -- Gary VanderMolen [MS-MVP WLM] "Ramesh, MS-MVP" <ramesh@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:ut30PEqJIHA.4584@xxxxxx Bill, Click "Associate a file type or protocol with a program" in the Default Programs applet, and associate "mailto:" protocol with Eudora. | | Re: Cannot re-establish Eudora as my default E-mail program. Bill, I understand Eudora isn't listed in the "Set Program Access and Computer Defaults" window. In the "Default Programs" window, click "Associate a file type or protocol with a program" Select MAILTO in the Protocols list, and then click Change program. Is Eudora listed in the resulting dialog box? -- Regards, Ramesh Srinivasan, Microsoft MVP [Windows Shell/User] Windows® Troubleshooting http://www.winhelponline.com "Bill" <NoSpam@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:ssnmj3tcska3sa3ur7auaed2hbv7dqbm42@xxxxxx On Wed, 14 Nov 2007 12:12:02 -0800, "Gary VanderMolen" Exactly! <gary@xxxxxx> wrote: Quote: >Ramesh, the problem (as I understand it) is that Eudora is not listed as >an available choice. > >-- >Gary VanderMolen [MS-MVP WLM] > > >"Ramesh, MS-MVP" <ramesh@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:ut30PEqJIHA.4584@xxxxxx >Bill, > >Click "Associate a file type or protocol with a program" in the Default Programs applet, and associate "mailto:" protocol with >Eudora. | | Re: Cannot re-establish Eudora as my default E-mail program. Which version of Eudora are you using? I tested with the current version in their site and it's listed when I double-click the "mailto:" entry. If you're already using the latest version of Eudora, then I can create a .REG file for you to resolve the problem. -- Regards, Ramesh Srinivasan, Microsoft MVP [Windows Shell/User] Windows® Troubleshooting http://www.winhelponline.com "Bill" <NoSpam@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:2gjoj39q6icl9nksd7ai1p1tles5vbj4hg@xxxxxx On Thu, 15 Nov 2007 09:46:55 +0530, "Ramesh, MS-MVP" <ramesh@xxxxxx> wrote: Quote: >Bill, > >I understand Eudora isn't listed in the "Set Program Access and Computer Defaults" window. > >In the "Default Programs" window, click "Associate a file type or protocol with a program" >Select MAILTO in the Protocols list, and then click Change program. > >Is Eudora listed in the resulting dialog box? that this is a Windows Vista Premium PC - if this was an XP system I doubt I'd be having this problem. If you're already using the latest version of Eudora, then I can create a .REG file for you to resolve the problem. did work fine until I gave Vista's Windows Mail a test (and made it the default). Since then, I haven't been able to re-assign Eudora as the default. I'd like to try your .REG file, maybe that is what I need. Before you ask - I have no problem backing up my registry, then recovering the unmodified registry should there be unforseen problems with the changes. Actually, I should have done this when I tested Windows Mail, but how was I to know that this program would cause so many problems? ![]() Thanks! - Bill |

If you can mail to ramesh (at) mvps (dot) org, I can reply to your mail with the REG attachment. -- Regards, Ramesh Srinivasan, Microsoft MVP [Windows Shell/User] Windows® Troubleshooting http://www.winhelponline.com "Bill" <NoSpam@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:82kpj399pg6qaoq6p5pn2sft5enteglqod@xxxxxx On Fri, 16 Nov 2007 00:02:54 +0530, "Ramesh, MS-MVP" <ramesh@xxxxxx> wrote: Quote: >Which version of Eudora are you using?
