Trouble sending email

I have been getting the following
server says it's not on there end
Thanks Ahead

The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be
correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this
problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the
"I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining
the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.

The rejected e-mail address was 'john@xxxxxx'. Subject
'Fw: DIYR Question', Account: 'mail.doityourselfradon.com', Server:
'smtp.charter.net', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '553
doityourselfradonradon.com does not exist', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server
Error: 553, Error Number: 0x800CCC78

Looks like doityourselfradonradon.com either has not been registered with a
DNS
server, or has been registered so recently that it's not reachable from all
parts of
the internet yet. That makes the address unreachable.

Re: Trouble sending email

Do you get a different error message?

According to this
http://www.charter.com/Visitors/Supp...ArticleID=1241
you can use mail.charter.net for both POP & SMTP server names

RE: Trouble sending email

I am getting the same security error - I can go to my old PC with XP on it
and send all day long no problem but not with Vista on my new PC. How do you
turn off the authentication setting ? This is insane, email is very basic and
works every where except with Vista.

Suggestions?
Thanks
Happy

RE: Trouble sending email

I get this same error on three different email outbound. Can someone help me??
I can send to my own email ok and can send to all of them on my old PC with
XP.
First one:
The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be
correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this
problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the
"I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining
the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.

The rejected e-mail address was 'happyr@xxxxxx'. Subject 'Fw:
testing email ', Account: 'mail.readyalert.com', Server:
'mail.readyalert.com', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '550 not local host
tampabay.rr.com, not a gateway', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error:
550, Error Number: 0x800CCC79
Second one:
The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be
correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this
problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the
"I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining
the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.

The rejected e-mail address was 'krdobson@xxxxxx'. Subject 'Fw: testing
email ', Account: 'mail.readyalert.com', Server: 'mail.readyalert.com',
Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '550 not local host gmail.com, not a
gateway', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 550, Error Number:
0x800CCC79
Third one:
The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be
correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this
problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the
"I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining
the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.

The rejected e-mail address was 'dalexander@xxxxxx'. Subject 'Fw: testing
email ', Account: 'mail.readyalert.com', Server: 'mail.readyalert.com',
Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '550 not local host ut.edu, not a gateway',
Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 550, Error Number: 0x800CCC79

I am sure if I send to others the same error will occur. I have read the
replies from the posts and tried all that was suggested, check the box, not
check the box and on and on.

I would as that Frank Saunders, MS-MVP OE/WM please respond. He seems to
know what he is talking about.

Does MS realize they have a problem here?
Thanks
Happy

RE: Trouble sending email

How about this. i sent to MS mail and got:
The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be
correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this
problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the
"I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining
the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.

The rejected e-mail address was 'cnfrmpro@xxxxxx'. Subject 'Re:
Verification E-Mail', Account: 'mail.readyalert.com', Server:
'mail.readyalert.com', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '550 not local host
microsoft.com, not a gateway', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 550,
Error Number: 0x800CCC79

Please find the problem.
Thanks
Happy
