Windows Mail very slow

I have a new notebook with Vista Premium and any action is very slow. It
takes 30 seconds to open a create mail, reply or reply all window. Also it
does not complete e-mail addresses from my contact list, it just fill-out if
I already used this address in this computer.

For completing e-mail addresses, Windows Mail remembers only the
last 29 addresses you sent mail to, not the whole contact list.

Re: Windows Mail very slow

Try the fix for slowness:
Windows Mail Slow

If you want the auto-complete to work better, you will need to upgrade
to Windows Live Mail:

Re: Windows Mail very slow

Gary!

I can't believe Microsoft can't do something about the snail pace of the
create and forward message sitch AND the slow address book loading! I'm
running Trend Micro anti-virus software, turned off the email scan option,
didn't work. Tried the calendar thing, didn't work. Don't even want to screw
with the registry thing. Am running Vista on a brand new Toshiba laptop.
Already have a SBC/Yahoo acct. - is that what WindowsLiveMail is in essence?

Any other suggestions?

Re: Windows Mail very slow

No, Windows Live Mail (WLM) is nothing like the SBC/Yahoo online
mail feature. WLM is a full-featured desktop email client program like
Windows Mail (POP/IMAP/newsgroups), and also handles Hotmail
accounts.
