| Vista Home Premium | user name & password screen keeps popping up??? I have set up my account and I have been trying to send something from the internet to friends. It pops up straight into windows mail and asks if I want my default email to send this (which is yahoo). I say yes and it tells me to enter my user name and password. I do this and that same screen just keeps popping up. I know I'm entering the right user name and password so I don't understand??? Any suggestions?????? Thanks so much. |

| Vista x64 Ultimate SP2, Windows 7 Ultimate x64 | Re: user name & password screen keeps popping up??? You will need to uninstall Norton completely. It does not work well with Windows Mail or Vista. I would use something like the free Avast instead. See the "FIRST" section here for more on this. Norton can cause problems like this easily. Windows Mail problems The error code 0x800CCC78 = SMTP_REJECTED_SENDER = Unknown sender. This is caused by having the incorrect e-mail address in the Reply-To field. You might double check to make sure that it is correct. Shawn |

You may even need to delete the email account, restart Windows Mail, and recreate it to get rid of all the account corruption Norton causes. avast! is a good replacement antivirus program, especially if you do a custom install and tell it to leave out the part that scans email. http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html Their web server seems to have problems now, though, so you may have to wait a while before downloading it. |
