I have a Hotmail.com email address and account which I wish to close without
interfering with my windows live account or my windows mail account - Please
tell how to accomplish this,

Not sure what you are trying to accomplish?
Is the email address for the Hotmail account the same or different
than the email address for the Windows Live account?
If different, just abandon (ignore) the Hotmail account. Hotmail
automatically deactivates accounts for lack of activity, which I think
occurs after 90 days.

I do not know if I have a Windows LIve Mail account. I do have a windows
mail account on Vista - My hatmail account is with MSN How can I check to
see if I have a Windows Live Mail Account, and does the MSN Hotmail account
interfere with tht Windows Mail Account. I have tgo sign into the
Hotmail account as ******@hotmail.com

Things are getting a bit confused here.
Windows Mail and Windows Live Mail are not accounts,
they are email programs in which you can install many different
kinds of email accounts.

Windows Mail is not able to handle Hotmail accounts, but Windows
Live Mail can.

Thanks Gary - So now I understand that these are email programs, not
accounts, and they are independent of each other in all respects. I am
going to try and delete the Hotmail account and see what happens. In any
event if I am not able to delete it, I will as you suggest abandon it totally

i have ps3 not a pc the hotmail/widows live will not let me email with
cookies??? for it to work with my ps3 and it says to close my email account
with micrsoft to close hotmail/windows live its hard to find a email for the
ps3 that work i tryed yahoo,breakthru,google,aol and charter all whanted to
store pc up grades virsions on midea storeg but stores on my psp memery so i
have no email yet.
