Problem deleting Sent messages

In my Sent box I have a name and a subject with "This message cannot be
displayed".
When I try to delete it I get a pop-up message saying "An unknown error has
occurred" and I am unable to delete it. As a result other messages being
sent from the out-box do not appear in the 'sent' box.Can anyone tell me how
to delete it please? Brendan

"Messages may be stuck in the Outbox when you use Windows Mail on a computer
that is running Windows Vista"

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/941090

It works for all folders, not just the Outbox.

Are the date and time set correctly on your PC?

Download and install this fix, with Windows Mail not running:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/941090

Although it's labelled as for mail stuck in the Outbox, it also works in
other
folders. If you don't know whether to use the 32-bit version or the 64-bit
version, try the 32-bit version first. Certain common antivirus programs,
such as most of those from Norton or McAfee, or a recent one from
Trend, tend to cause such problems, although seldom immediately, so if
you have such a program, remember where to find the fix - you are likely
to need it again.

Hi Brendan,

This will solve your problem:
Read the "First" section in this tutorial about antivirus programs to help prevent this from happening again, then install the KB941090 Microsoft Update in the "Second" section to fix the stuck message problem.
