Vista - windows mail opens without any of my messages or folders

Occassionally when i open windows mail all my folders and all my emails are
gone and none of my email accounts are operating. all my contacts are still
there. The only way i have been able to get all my folders and messages back
is to restore my computer from early check point in McAfee.
Can any anyone advise why this is happening and how i can prevent it
happenin in the future?

Windows Mail often behaves erratically when interfered with by
some antivirus programs. Windows Mail is not compatible with
most McAfee and Norton security programs. Those will need to
be uninstalled, not just disabled.

After uninstalling your non-compatible antivirus, download
and install a more compatible antivirus like the free Avast:

Even compatible antivirus programs will need to have their
