Error Number: 0x800CCC90

My windows Mail was working properly, but today when I started the program this message appeared:

Account: 'imap.gmail.com', Server: 'imap.gmail.com',
Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '
* OK Gimap ready for requests from "my IP address number",
Port: 993, Secure(SSL): Yes, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC90

and now I am not able to send and recieve mails.

What is the problem?
I am using Nod 32 3.0 antivirus
Windows Vista Bussines x64 OS

Re: Error Number: 0x800CCC90

That was the receive error message.
Could you also post the send error?

Unfortunately I'm not familiar with IMAP receive errors, but I may
be able to help you with the SMTP send problem.

Re: Error Number: 0x800CCC90

0x800CCC90 error on IMAP is caused by your Anti Virus. Disable your email scanning (incoming and outgoing) feature of your AV. In some cases depending on the make of your AV (Norton and MacAfee ) needs to be uninstalled. Use something that is free and not so bloated like Avast. Whichever one (AV)you decide to use always when installing never select the email integration (scanning) feature of the AV security suite

With what antivirus program? With some, disabling part is not
enough, you have to uninstall the whole program instead.

What is the full error message?

You want to tell me that it's not possible to run Antivirus (some of them) and to use Windows Mail at the same time?

Some of the antivirus programs keep causing problems in Windows
Mail, even if you don't run them at the same time. Some of the
antivirus programs have resident portions that keep running all
of the time.

RE: Error Number: 0x800CCC90

I am having this same problem. Have you been able to fix it? I have tried
everything and I am not sure what to do at this point. I keep receiving this
error.

Account: 'pop.att.yahoo.com', Server: 'pop.att.yahoo.com', Protocol: POP3,
Server Response: '-ERR popgate unknown command', Port: 995, Secure(SSL): Yes,
Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC18

Help!

Re: Error Number: 0x800CCC90

Go to Tools, Accounts, select that mail account, Properties, Servers.
Uncheck "Log on using Secure Password Authentication."
