yEnc Encoding in UseNet Messages & Windows Mail

Hi Microsoft. Do you have any plans to incorporate yEnc decoding into
Windows Mail? I was hoping that this would be incorporated.

Sam,

yEnc is in the public domain. We generally do not use open standards.
We prefer our own "standards" which we can keep closed and use them to choke
the life out of our users.

Thanks for contacting us.

From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yenc:

<quote>
There is no RFC or other standards document describing yEnc. The yEnc
homepage contains a draft informal specification and a grammar (which
contradicts RFC 2822 and RFC 2045), although neither has been submitted to
the Internet Engineering Task Force.

No standard := No incorporation

Probably not. Microsoft is devoting most of their email effort to a
newer program, Windows Live Mail:

http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview

When I wanted yEnc decoding in Windows Mail, I downloaded and
installed OeyEnc. You have to start the OeyEnc Loader instead of
Windows Mail, and let it start Windows Mail, to get it working,
though.

Thanks. I used to use a similar program years ago with Outlook Express but
can't for the life of me remember what it is called.

Re: yEnc Encoding in UseNet Messages & Windows Mail

try Yenc, you use the standard WM icons to click, it works as proxy server.
