Importing contacts

When I imported my email addresses from XP (.wab), it alphabetized them
according to FIRST names not last names. What to do?

Re: Importing contacts

It depends on where you are looking...
In the Contacts folder:
If you have a column for "Last Name", just click on the heading to sort
(up/down).
If you don't see the Last name column, add it by right-clicking on the Name
heading and select "Last".

If you mean in the Select Recipients window:
Click on the "Name" column heading.. it cycles thru 4 sortings....

Re: Importing contacts

Thank you. This worked perfectly. Can you help me with this:
In XP, I had my contacts in separate folders (not groups). I cannot figure
out how to do this in Vista. Please advise.

Re: Importing contacts

Windows Mail works differently than OE did. Many users say it's a step
backwards.
Although you can create folders and move contacts into them, it doesn't do
much good.
When you click on the To: button, all contacts will show up, disregarding
the folders.
However, you can open the Contacts folder directly, go to a sub-folder, and
right-click on an email address and select Action - Send Email to...

Re: Importing contacts

Well, I have Outlook 07 on this new PC, which I haven't used yet.
May I assume it will have the folder features?
