Window Mail / Vista / blueyonder e-mail

Hi

Please could anyone help. I have recently brought a new PC which has
Windows Vista and I cannot log into the Windows Mail. On my old PC I had
Outloot Express and never had any problems. I have tried to register but am
getting nowhere and have called Virgin Media's technical help but am gettinh
nowehere. The error message that I am getting is as follows:

Account: 'POP3.blueyonder.co.uk', Server: 'POP3.blueyonder.co.uk',
Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR Protocol error.', Port: 110,
Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC91

Any assistance would be greatfully recieved!

Try help from Blueyonder's web site:

If that's not enough, what if any antivirus programs do you have?

Re: Window Mail / Vista / blueyonder e-mail

Thanks for this - I've given it a try and still no luck I'm afraid. The
anti-virus software is Norton 360 so any advice onhow to tweak this to allow
the e-mail set up would be great.

Thanks

Re: Window Mail / Vista / blueyonder e-mail

The only way to stop most Norton antivirus programs from causing
problems is to uninstall them.

After that, try deleting your email account under Windows Mail and
creating it again. Note - this will delete your old mail if you don't
watch out.

You may want a replacement antivirus program. I recommend that you
use either avast! or AVG, either one after a custom install that tells it to
leave out the part that scans email.
