Missing Contacts - When Clicking TO Icon - No Contacts to Pick Fro

The three non-admin accounts on my machine can no longer click the To button
to choose from their contacts of who to send an email to. Before, it showed
all of their respective contacts to pick from. If they click their
respective contacts icon, their contacts do show up there. Any idea?

Thanks,
Mark

Hi Mark,

What antivirus program are you using? It may be causing this problem.
See the "FIRST" section in this tutorial.

Windows Mail problems

Are you able to open the Contacts folder directly from the "C:\Users\(your username)\Contacts"?

Re: Missing Contacts - When Clicking TO Icon - No Contacts to Pick

I can open the contacts from the user's folder. As far as antivirus, I had
to disable it because I had all kinds of problems with Windows Mail after a
couple of months of it working fine.

While assisting me with the contacts problem, any antivirus to recommend
that will not conflict with Vista, or other software?

Appreciate the assistance.

Clicking the To button shows addresses chosen from the last 29 addresses
you sent messages to, not the contacts list. The mismatch between the two
lists is irritating to some people.

Re: Missing Contacts - When Clicking TO Icon - No Contacts to Pick

I recommend you use either avast! or AVG, either one after a custom
install that tells it to leave out the part that scans email:

http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html

http://free.grisoft.com/doc/5390/us/frt/0?prd=aff

Disabling your old antivirus program may not be enough to stop it from
causing problems, especially if it's from Norton, McAfee, or Trend. You
may have to uninstall it as well.

umm...
Clicking the To: button should show all the contacts and groups.
The auto-complete only accesses the last 29 email addresses.

Mark,

I would recommend the free Avast. The download link for it is in the same link of the previous post. You should completely uninstall the other antivirus program and not just disable it to help with the problem.
