Thank you for the suggestion.
The problem was resolved by d/loading the list about 30 times.
I noticed that each time I used the "Reset List" the number of
newsgroups downloaded increased by about 1,500. So after many attempts
I got the full number 46,000+ plus the newsgroup descriptions.
I think my ISP had used the brakes but they will not admit it.
