unable to set up windows email

We have suddenlink cable (used to be Cox), and i had no trouble setting up
the pop3 and smtp account part. when i hit send/receive i keep getting the
Window Security dialog box, asking if the user name and password are correct.
then i get the error messages saying the following:

Account: 'Stan Forrest', Server: 'pop.suddenlink.net', Protocol: POP3,
Server Response: '-ERR a user name MUST be entered', Port: 110, Secure(SSL):
No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC91

when i type in the name and password - it gets hung up on "authorizing" and
then the same dialog box comes back again and again.

    thanks for all your help

'Tools|Accounts|Email|Properties|Servers tab', do you have a name entered in
    the "E-mail username" box?

Have you tried contacting Sudddenlink directly via the resources on
their Web site at suddenlink.com or suddenlink.net?

Windows Vista email setup with Suddenlink

I have just gotten my Vista computer set up and downloaded my suddenlink email. If you still don't have yours set up, let me know and I can tell you the settings I have on mine.
