Re: Received email from myself

This is probably email address spoofing and it comes from one of two places:

1. Someone who has your email address has a malware infection that's gotten
hold of the address book and is using your name and email address (as well
as every other address in the book) to cover it's tracks.

2. Some spammer managed to get hold of your email address (maybe you posted
a message online and used your real email address) and is using it (plus
every other address he can get his hands on) to do the same thing cover his
tracks.

Sadly, there's not much you can do about it, particularly if its due to case
1. As to case 2, never use your real email address for anything you post
online (E.G. "hhh at kvoa dot com", a perfectly human readable
representation that forum scanning robot will ignore). My real address is
below and I get several THOUSAND spam emails a day because of it.

"My real address is below and I get several THOUSAND spam emails a day
because of it."

Which begs the question: why don't you scramble it in some way?

Re: Received email from myself

At this stage of the game, disguising it would make no difference. We
(KVOA) use an off-site spam filtering organization called "Postini" which
traps the thousands of spam/virus emails and sends along the good stuff.
