user name and password

I am trying to set up my roadrunner account in windows mail.
there is no error message. when I try to send/recieve mail a box pops up. on
the top say windows security and says logging on to
pop3-server.roadrunner.com and to verify the user name and password. I type
it in exactly how it is on the printout I got from the cable company and the
box goes away for a second and comes back. doesnt say that it is incorrect
or anything the same box just keeps coming back. I have also tried useing
the username and password that I use to log onto my computer. any ideas?

Did you set up with Roadrunner's instructions?

Did you try your username both with and without the part of your email
address
starting with @? Did you try your username with no CAPITAL LETTERS?
Email servers are sometimes picky about which they will accept.

Re: user name and password

The POP3 server name is pop-server.roadrunner.com (not pop3-server)
For the username, only use the part in front of "@roadrunner.com"
Use the password associated with the email account
click the button for "Log on using clear text authentication"

Have you used Roadrunner's instructions for setting up?

<http://help.rr.com/AA/rrwho.aspx?ReturnUrl=%2fHMSLogic%2femail_help_topic.aspx%3ftopic%3dE%2bmail&topic=E+mail>

Have you tried the username with no CAPITAL LETTERS?

Have you tried the username both with and without the part of
your email address starting with @?

Did you try entering your password with CAPITAL and lower case
letters where they recommend?

If your password has any CAPITAL LETTERS, have you tried
changing it so it doesn't, and then changing the setup to match?

Have you tried waiting about 5 minutes after your last try was
rejected, in case Roadrunner thinks someone is trying to guess
your password and has temporarily disabled logins?
