| | Re: email addresses You can't change what you see from your end. However, once that message is sent, it will look no different to the recipient than if it had been sent from OE. -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (WLM) "Marcia" <Marcia@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:161C3FF4-42E4-4812-AE37-723C7375E91D@xxxxxx Quote: > how do I get just the contact name to show and not the email address too when > I send an email? |

| | Re: email addresses That doesn't seem to be true if you are sending mail to someone who also uses VISTA Mail. Maybe the addresses don't show up on OE or Office Mail but my experience is that they do in VISTA Mail. the long and the short is that if you wish not to have your e-mail addresses show at all you probably need to find another e-mail program or find some acceptable work arounds for this one. -- "Gary VanderMolen" wrote: Quote: > You can't change what you see from your end. | | Re: email addresses Let's review a few basics. Different email programs have different philosophies about how much information to display to the casual reader. But unless you use BCC addressing, the recipient can ALWAYS find a way to display all the email addresses to which the message was sent. Email addresses have to be included in the sent message or else the mail system would not know where to deliver the message. -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (WLMail) "Angler" <Angler@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:B7328348-CF2E-4E70-BAF1-2D32D2F380FC@xxxxxx Quote: > That doesn't seem to be true if you are sending mail to someone who also uses > VISTA Mail. | | Re: email addresses You are always going to be able to see the senders email address... else you wouldn't get the message. Some email programs, like Thunderbird, has the option to display only the user name (for senders in your address book). But the email address is there, just hover your mouse over it. It just reduces the clutter, not privacy. WM/WLM just shows both. -- http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview "Angler" <Angler@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:B7328348-CF2E-4E70-BAF1-2D32D2F380FC@xxxxxx Quote: > That doesn't seem to be true if you are sending mail to someone who also > uses > VISTA Mail.
