can't send emails

I have installed my yahoo account into Windows Mail. I can receive emails
but can't send.
The error message I get is: "Your server has unexpectedly terminated the
connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network
problems, or a long period of inactivity. Subject 'essai', Account:
'pop.mail.yahoo.com.ar', Server: 'smtp.mail.yahoo.com.ar', Protocol: SMTP,
Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10053, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F"

I have Windows Vista Home Premiun and Norton Internet Security.

Could somebody help me please.
Thanks.
Gabriel

I don't know about your country's version of Yahoo, but the US version
requires an extra cost Yahoo account to use it with Windows Mail:

http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mai...op/pop-35.html

http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mai...op/pop-08.html

You might ask them if this applies to your country as well. Also ask them
for their instructions for setting up to use your country's Yahoo email
servers.

Assuming you have POP access... follow these instructions...

Re: can't send emails

I can't read Spanish, so there's no way for me to pull up Yahoo's
email setup instructions for Argentina customers. However, the
port settings are likely to be the same for all Yahoo mail servers.
You need to change the outgoing port from 25 to 465, and enable
the SSL option. Those settings can be found on the Advanced tab
of the Account properties.

Re: can't send emails

Not quite. Those instructions are for US customers. The OP is in
Argentina. The port information should be the same for all countries.
The OP already has the correct server names for that country.

Re: can't send emails

Gary
Thank you. I changed outgoing mail port from 25 to 587 and it works.
