| | Windows Mail Problem Often when I try to open Windows Mail I get a message stating that Mail has stopped working with APPCRASH as the reason. Windows Mail then closes. When I try it a second time, it usually works correctly but sometimes it takes more than 2 tries. Can anyone help me sove this problem? -- OBM |

| | Re: Windows Mail Problem If you used the standard install for AVG, it sometimes helps to uninstall it and then do a custom install where you tell it to leave out the part that scans email. http://free.grisoft.com/doc/5390/us/frt/0?prd=aff "OldBonaMate" <OldBonaMate@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:E402A4E6-38C3-42C1-A65D-C7DF14B4C97C@xxxxxx Quote: >I have AVG free installed. > -- > OBM > > > "robertmiles@xxxxxx" wrote: > Quote: >> >> "OldBonaMate" <OldBonaMate@xxxxxx> wrote in message >> news:5DF01BC2-D528-4968-AC18-F14E167EA891@xxxxxx Quote: >> > Often when I try to open Windows Mail I get a message stating that Mail >> > has >> > stopped working with APPCRASH as the reason. | | Re: Windows Mail Problem What if any error messages do you get when you try? Show us the complete error messages. What happens if you try to send a message to yourself? Who's your email provider (probably the same as your internet provider)? Does your connection to their email servers go through equipment belonging to more than one internet provider? I tried what you suggested but it didn't work unfortunately. -- OBM "robertmiles@xxxxxx" wrote: Quote: > If you used the standard install for AVG, it sometimes helps to > uninstall it and then do a custom install where you tell it to > leave out the part that scans email. > > http://free.grisoft.com/doc/5390/us/frt/0?prd=aff > > "OldBonaMate" <OldBonaMate@xxxxxx> wrote in message > news:E402A4E6-38C3-42C1-A65D-C7DF14B4C97C@xxxxxx Quote: > >I have AVG free installed. > > -- > > OBM > > > > > > "robertmiles@xxxxxx" wrote: > > Quote: > >> > >> "OldBonaMate" <OldBonaMate@xxxxxx> wrote in message > >> news:5DF01BC2-D528-4968-AC18-F14E167EA891@xxxxxx > >> > Often when I try to open Windows Mail I get a message stating that Mail > >> > has > >> > stopped working with APPCRASH as the reason. | | Re: Windows Mail Problem Hi again, My problem is not that I can't send emails, once I am in Windows Mail I can send and receive no problem; the trouble is that Windows Mail does not launch every time. When it fails to launch, it usually starts connecting, but not always, and then I get a message to say that Windows Mail has stopped working and it shuts itself down. The second attempt to launch usually works but, again, not always. -- OBM "robertmiles@xxxxxx" wrote: Quote: > What if any error messages do you get when you try?
