Vista - Contact list does not show up on Mail pane

in XP, it would show a list of your contacts along the left side of Outlook
Express. It was easy to click on the contacts name to initiate an email to
them. Is this an option on Vista Mail? I cannot find it.

No, neither Windows Mail nor Windows Live Mail has that option.

Contacts are now stored in a folder, outside of the mail program.
If you want, you can keep the folder open at all times on your desktop, even
with WM closed.
