Re: Mail identies

Windows Mail doesn't have Identities, but you could add them by purchasing
WMIDs

No, you cannot remove Windows Mail.

Yes, you can install Outlook. Version 2003 and newer work fine. Version
2000 & 2002 have a few problems.

You could try the newer Windows Live Mail. It also doesn't have identities,
but it does have separate Inboxes, etc. for each account.

I'd like to "try before buy" but there's no trial version,
is there? I'm willing to pay to fix the mistake MS has
made removing the identities but i'd like to see the
program work first...

Windows Mail is part of Vista and very hard to remove without also
removing the rest of Vista. You can, however, keep it from doing
much of anything by clicking on Tools, then Accounts, then for each
account, clicking on the account, then Remove, then any approvals
needed. After the last account is removed, click on Close.

Versions 2003 and more recent of Outlook will run under Vista.
Version 2002 also runs, but with a few problems. Outlook
Express won't run under Vista.

I would tend to agree with that philosophy, especially if the software cost
hundreds of $$$, but in this case it only costs <$15, the software was
written specifically for users just like *you*, by a MS-MVP. Find out about
the MS MVP Program - http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/default.aspx

Have a look around the site for any other useful tools while you are there?
