What if any antivirus programs and other security programs do you have? Also , port 25 and SSL are seldom used together. You might try turning it off for your SMTP server. |

| | Re: SMTP read error, cant send email. With avast!, it's easier to uninstall it, then do a custom install where you tell it to leave out the part that scans email. It doesn't have much of a user interface for changing otherwise. http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html "Anita" <Anita@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:91344B44-8971-4DCF-904A-7BD1A77CA090@xxxxxx Quote: >I have Avast4home as antivirus program. What if any antivirus programs, antispyware programs, firewall programs, and other security programs do you have? Also, port 25 and SSL are seldom used together, so make sure your email provider calls for this combination. |

| | Re: SMTP read error, cant send email. Error messages referring to port 0 are usually due to interference from an antivirus program preventing Windows Mail from being able to look up the correct port number. What if any antivirus programs do you have? What if any antivirus programs do you have, and have you ever had a Norton or Mcafee antivirus program on that computer, even a trial version? Also, not many email providers that have you connect to their outgoing mail server also have you use SSL on that connection. You might want to check with your email provider if that's what you should use. |
