| | address book/contacts Windows Vista: Home version Somehow my contacts list has a wrong email id in it. When I remove/edit the email id, it does not change, i.e. arlenexxxxxx@xxxxxx is the correct adress The contact list shows that it is correct, but when I use the shortcut by typing in the first few letters it uses: arlenexxxxxx2006@xxxxxx Why can't I get it changed?????? I am not happy with Windows Vista mail. Linda |

| | Re: address book/contacts Windows Mail has two different contact lists, the regular one and the auto-complete one. The latter comes into play only when you begin typing a few letters in the To, Cc, or Bcc fields. Auto-completion draws from a list of the last 29 contacts you've sent email to. That list is kept in the registry and is not easily edited. The bad address will drop off the remembered list eventually. If you are comfortable with editing the registry, see these instructions: http://www.winhelponline.com/article...dows-Mail.html The best solution is to upgrade to Windows Live Mail since it has a much better auto-complete feature: http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (WLMail) "Changing email ids in the Contact list??" <Changing email ids in the Contact list??@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:3EB12AB9-C32F-4B60-B411-9EB7A33B6FD3@xxxxxx Quote: > Windows Vista: Home version > > Somehow my contacts list has a wrong email id in it.
