Help me find a resource about Windows mail PLEASE!

I recently purchased a new laptop. Vista is its OS.

My ISP is cox cable

I have 5 email accounts on cox.

I am unable to use more than one of them using Windows email. Using Outlook
Express I was able to switch between them at will. Cox informed me that the
only was to access the other four was to use their web mail feature.

I find it hard to believe that MSFT would make an important feature like
email so user unfriendly.

I have had the same email addresses since 1996 when I was an @home user.
@home was subsequently taken over by cox.

My hotmail account and yahoo mail account function perfectly. However, I use
them for email that will generate a lot of junk.

Please direct me to a resource that will inform me in BASIC English how to
use Windows mail.

I am ready to return the laptop to Office Depot and buy a used one with XP
at a pawnshop in order to use my email accounts.

Thanks for your help,

Re: Help me find a resource about Windows mail PLEASE!

Just add the other 4 accounts to Windows Mail. It's not rocket science.
Tools - Accounts - Add

However, Windows Mail hasn't been updated in over a year. And it doesn't
have identities, it puts email from all accounts into the
same Inbox. There's no setting to change that. When you send a message,
you can select which account to send from, by clicking on the "From: " box.

Here are a few alternatives...

1. Create folders for each email account and create message rules to move
email addressed to each account into the appropriate folder.

2. Create and use different Windows Users, each with WM accessing only
their email account.

3. Use the newer Windows Live Mail which has separate folders for each
account. It has been updated, and can access Hotmail...

4. Purchase WMIDs which adds identities to WM

5. Install Outlook, Thunderbird, Eudora, etc.

Re: Help me find a resource about Windows mail PLEASE!

You haven't explained why you can't simply add the other four accounts.
Windows Mail will handle up to 32 accounts.

If you want the accounts to have their own separate folders,
upgrade to Windows Live Mail:
