| | Maping Network Drive in Vista I have PC1 (running Win XP) and PC2 (running Vista Home Basic). In PC2, I only have one user account (the administrator), with no password. I shared my C: drive to all. Now, in PC1, when I try to Map Network Drive to the C: drive in PC2, it keeps saying Access Denied. Then I clicked on "Connect using a different name", and keyed in PC2's User account, leaving password blank (since there is no password). Same response. Then, on PC2, I created the passwrd for the user account, went back to PC1, and this time keyed in the password. I got connected. My question is - I do not want PC2 to be password controlled. Pls tell me how I can still get PC1 to map the drive to PC2's C: drive without the password control. Hitesh |

| | Re: Maping Network Drive in Vista The only way you can do that is to enable the Guest account. This is a built-in account for guest users that is normally disabled for security purposes.
